Live Broadcast or TV Channel Audio Out of Sync/Desynchronized or Distorted

This article is relevant for On Premise and MediaCP Cloud and will be focusing on Audio being out of sync or distorted

it is important that uploaded video files, and your encoder formats are consistent in its audio and video format. Inconsistency in format may cause problems, specifically in the case of Audio Frequency / Sample rate you can eventually run into Audio Desynchronization issues or hear distorted audio. We see this especially with customers who use VMix which has audio frequency always set at 48000hz.

Resolution

Ensure that both the uploaded video files, and your encoder formats are consistent, especially the Audio Frequency and Video Framerate:

  • Video Codec - H.264 ONLY
  • Video Resolution - i.e., 720p, 1080p etc
  • Audio Format - MUST be AAC (AC3, MP3 or others will cause errors)
  • Audio Frequency / Samplerate - 48 kHz recommended
  • Video Framerate

There is a guide available for Managing your media files, including converting to the correct format.
