Got error 28 from storage engine

You may see this error Got error 28 from storage engine when accessing the Media Control Panel.

This is an error received from the database engine MySQL. Error 28 refers to "not enough disk space" and it will be required to free up space on the hard drive or add another hard disk to the system with more space.

Resolution

  1. Free space on the hard disk, or add another hard disk.
    1. Search the system for excess log files, commonly found in /usr/local/WowzaStreamingEngine/logs and /usr/local/mediacp/logs/
    2. It is possible to Move MediaCP media files to another hard disk to free up space
    3. It is possible to configure backups onto another hard disk also
